Funeral rites for the former governor of Bayelsa State kicked off on Thursday, April 7, 2016, with Youth Student activities in Yenagoa by 9am.
This was followed by a public lecture on Federalism and Development in Nigeria by Prof G.G. Darah at the Banquet Hall in Yenagoa by 12noon and was attended by several prominent sons and daughters of the state.
Later in the day, a Night of Songs and Tributes was held in honour of the late Ijaw leader, who many called the peoples’ general.
Earlier today, Friday, April 9, 2016, a Valedictory State Executive Council Session was held at the Banquet Hall by 9am.

He will be finally laid to rest on Saturday in Amassoma.
