Arsenal survived a scare at West Ham in the early kick-off match of the Barclays Premier League on Saturday to go home with a 3-3 draw.
The London derby lived up to expectations as the Hammers first came from two goals down to go ahead their visitors 3-2, all thanks to Andy Carroll’s hat trick.
West Ham scored two goals in two minutes in injury time of the first half.
At the resumption of the second stanza of the match, Andy Carroll put his club ahead of Arsenal, but Laurent Koscielny ensured that his team got something, a point, from the Boleyn Ground.
Earlier, Mesut Oezil and Alexis Sanchez had put the Gunners ahead in the 35th and 44th minutes respectively.
Arsenal now stay rooted to number three spot on the log with 59 points, five ahead their closest rival, Manchester City, who play against West Brom in the late kick off on Saturday.
West Ham is now one point behind Manchester United, who play Tottenham on Sunday at White Hart Lane.
