Members of the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, campaigners were shocked to be denied access into Aso Rock in Abuja during their planned demonstration on Thursday.
The group had attempted to go into the Presidential Villa to protest the abduction of over 200 school girls in Chibok, Borno State on April 14, 2014.
However, the protesters were not allowed into Aso Rock by security operatives, who include the police and the Department of State Security, DSS.
Security agents blocked the protesters on their way to the Villa to express their grievances on Federal Government’s delay in rescuing the girls.
A dazed Obiageli Ezekwesili, one of the leaders of the BBOG group, described the action of the police as a reminder of the military era.
The former Minister of Education said the Presidency was aware of their protest at the Villa and wondered why they were stopped by the police.
