An alleged strategic accomplice of Khalid Al-Barnawi has been arrested and paraded by the Department of State Security, DSS.
The suspect, one Bello Danhajiya, a Fulani from Zamfara State, was shown to the media on Wednesday. He is presumed to be second in command.
It was disclosed that he confessed his involvement in gun-running, cattle rustling and other nefarious criminal activities principally on the directives of his commander, Al-Barnawi.
Last week, the DSS arrested Al-Barnawi in a facility in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. He is the head of Ansaru and also second in command to the wanted Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.
