Some angry youths in Nasarawa State recently vented their frustration on a member of the state House of Assembly.
The victim, Yahaya Rilwanu, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, representing Awe-South state constituency, was accused of not keeping to the promises he made to them during his campaign tours.
Trouble reportedly started when supporters of the lawmaker and the angry youths believed to be from Ribi town engaged in quarrel, which degenerated into a fight.
One of the lawmaker’s supporters was said to have sustained an injury on the head during the fracas.
Rilwanu explained that the incident was actually not an attack, but the handiwork of his political rivals, who want to contest in 2019.
He alleged that the unnamed opponent induced some youths in the area to attack him.
