Ondo NSCDC Commandant Warns Illegal Miners

Ondo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Adeyinka Fasiu, has deployed his men to various parts of the state to curtail activities of illegal mining.

This he said is in line with the Federal Government’s directive to deploy men of the Civil Defence Corps across the country to check activities of illegal mining.

He advised all illegal miners operating in the state to vacate Ondo State or face the full wrath of the law.

Fasiu said not less than 50 personnel of the Corps have been posted to various mining sites across the state to monitor the activities of miners.

He said the officers, who will work in conjunction with the officials of the Federal Ministry of Solid Mineral Development, will ensure that all illegal miners are flushed out from Ondo State.

Fasiu made this known while speaking with journalists at the state command Headquarters in Alagbaka Akure on Tuesday.

The Commandant assured of his men’s cooperation with the FG in its efforts to diversify the country’s economy.

He enjoined all the mining companies in the state to carry out their activities in compliance with mining regulations of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
