Former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamoiwei Dudafa, has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security, DSS, in Lagos.
Dudafa was apprehended on Monday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos upon his arrival from abroad.
He was said to have been handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after his arrest.
Dudafa was accused of giving N10 billion to delegates at the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party in December 2014, along with Jonathan’s ex Aide-de-Camp,
Col. Ojogbane Adegbe, who the EFCC arrested sometimes ago, but later released.
It was said that the said money diverted by the Office of the National Security Adviser from a Signature Bonus Account in the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
Dudafa reportedly fled abroad some months ago when he learnt that the EFCC were on his trail, but decided return to the country on Monday.
However, after he was screened at the port of arrival, he was picked up by the DSS and transferred to Abuja for questioning by the EFCC.
