According to ThisDay, former military president, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, is seriously sick and he is unable to walk unaided.
The publication based its report on information relayed to it by a source close to the retired army general’s hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger State.
The report said IBB’s illness has made it impossible for him to attend public functions lately.
However, ThisDay could not ascertain the real cause of the former Nigerian ruler’s illness, but said the source revealed that it could be age-related or a relapse of the radiculopathy disease which has troubled IBB since he was head of state.
The illness of the former military president became public last week when he attended the valedictory dinner for the former Niger State Chief Judge, Justice Fati Lami Abubakar and was aided out of the venue before the end of the event.
It was said that Babangida now travels to Abuja frequently where he receives medical attention and has cut down on receiving visitors at his home.
