Nigeria’s representative at this year’s CAF Champions League, Enyimba, say they will snatch a win, or at worst, a draw against Etoile Sportive du Sahel when they meet on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Tunisia and hope to chase the club out of the competition.
One of the players of the Nigeria professional football league champions, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, promised that his side will do everything possible to defend their 3-0 first leg win advantage against their opponent in Nigeria.
Enyimba are eyeing a spot in the lucrative group stage of the tournament they have won two times before.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Ibenegbu said his side are in good spirit despite to face the North African side despite the odds.
He said, “We are going to approach the encounter in Sousse as if we have not played the first leg, it’s going to be tough given the opponents pedigree but we will get the job well done.
“No, we are not going to defend the 3-0 win in Port Harcourt, we will attack with whole lot of caution. We need Nigerians’ prayers and support to survive the expected difficult task against the Tunisian side.
“We are determined to see off Etoile du Sahel to firm our foot in the group stage of the competition. Nigerians should sleep with both eyes closed as there is no cause for alarm.”
Enyimba will be expecting to face over 20,000 fans of Etoile du Sahel at the Stade Olympique de Sousse, Sousse in Tunisia.
