More than 800,000 Nigerians applied for the advertised 10,000 jobs vacant in the Nigeria Police Force.
This information was disclosed by the Police Service Commission, PSC, on Monday, May 2, 2016, in Abuja.
A statement issued by Head, Press and Public Relations of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, revealed that as at 1pm on Monday, about 843,008 applications from applicants seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force have been received.
Giving a breakdown of the application, Ani noted that 243,327 applications were received for Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, cadre, while 197,990 and 401,691 applicants applied for the Inspector and Police Constable (PC) cadres respectively.
The commission had said it would recruit 500 Cadet ASP, 500 Cadet Inspectors, 1,500 Specialist Officers and 7, 500 Constables in the recruitment of 10,000 police personnel.
The exercise is expected to close on May 13.
