Amosun Hails Anisulowo’s Release

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies for the rescue of former Minister, Iyabo Anisulowo.

Amosun received Anisulowo on Tuesday night at the Government House in Ibara, Abeokuta, shortly after she was rescued from her abductors.

The governor thanked the President for his support and also appreciated security agencies for a job well done.

He said, “This shows that with the right political leadership and tools, our security agencies can perform wonders.”

Speaking further, Amosun noted that “the arrest of the abductors of Anisulowo clearly shows that Nigeria and especially, Ogun State, cannot and will not be a safe haven for criminals.”

The former Minister was kidnapped last week Wednesday, but regained her freedom almost one week after following a massive manhunt for her abductors.

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abdulmajid Ali, said the arrested kidnap kingpin was the brain behind the abduction of Anisulowo.
