Three officials of the Kogi State Government have been sentenced to 12 years in prison over their roles in N160 million fraud.
The trio, Joseph Y. Agbo; John Ekele and Abubakar Adamu, were convicted by Justice J. J. Majebi of the Kogi State High Court, sitting in Okene.
They were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 13, 2012.
The EFCC took the trio to court on a four count charge of criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust punishable under Sections 97 (1) and 315 of the Penal Code Law of Kogi State.
The anti-graft agency accused them of defrauding the state government to the tune of N160 million, which they were later guilty of.
