Panama Papers Go Online Today

The general public will have the opportunity to access the controversial Panama Papers that have revealed how top figures in the world keep offshore companies not known to many.

Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Wale Tinubu, a relative of Bola Ahmed Tinubu are among those already named in the leaks.

Aproko247 gathered that the files would be made available on the internet on Monday, May 9, 2016, at 1800 GMT, which is about 5pm Nigerian time. It would be available www.offshoreleaks.icij.org

Before now, only members of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists have had access to the documents.

It was learnt that names and information on 200,000 offshore entities set up by wealthy individuals around the world would be made known to the world in the 2.6 terabytes document.

The data was sourced from almost four decades of digital archives of one Panamanian law firm specialized in creating and running offshore entities, Mossack Fonseca, which says its computer records were hacked from abroad.
