The pump price of Premium Motor Spirit commonly called petrol has now been increased from the official N86 per litre.
The product will henceforth now go for N145 per litre, Aproko247 has learnt.
This is because the Federal Government has finally put an end to the fuel subsidy regime.
It would be recalled that last week, it was speculated that the FG would increase the pump price, which brought back queues to filling stations because of panic buy by Nigerians.
In 2012, attempt by the then government of Goodluck Jonathan to remove subsidy was met with stiff opposition by Nigerians, who majorly did not understand why it should be removed.
However, Nigerians have lately backed the removal of fuel subsidy following the subsidy scam that was exposed in the tail end of last administration.
