President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Monday afternoon held a closed-door meeting in Abuja.
Wike was said to have arrived the Presidential Villa at about 2:32pm on Monday and headed straight to see the President, who he met for about 30 minutes.
The reason for the secret discussion was not disclosed to anxious newsmen waiting to hear from the governor after the meeting.
However, there are speculations that the governor’s visit to the President might be connected with happenings in the state lately.
Wike has been having issues with his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, who is now the Minister of Transportation. Both former allies now belong to opposing parties.
