The leadership of the Nigerian Senate on Thursday, May 19, 2016, held a meeting with leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, over their industrial action, which entered day two on Thursday.
The workers had embarked on a strike to force the Federal Government to revert the pump price to N86.50 from N145 it increased it to last week.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who presided over the meeting between the aggrieved workers and the lawmakers, disclosed that the talks were to iron out amicable ways of resolving the issues.
Saraki explained that he met with the NLC led by Ayuba Wabba “to listen to the concerns of Nigerian workers and to discuss ways of resolving the current strike action.”
