Father of wanted ex-Niger Delta warlord, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has fled Gbaramatu Kingdom due to the invasion of the Nigerian military in search of his son.
It was learnt that soldiers took over the palatial guesthouse of Tompolo on Monday and prevented those there leaving.
Also, the movement of the paramount ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom has been restricted by the military.
Aproko247 gathered that all exit and entry points into the community, located in Warri, Delta State, have been blocked by the army.
The town now looks like a ghost town because of the invasion.
During the invasion, Tompolo’s father narrowly escaped arrest.
Tompolo has repeatedly denied stoking the return of violent agitations in the region, but many believe that the ex-militant cannot extricate himself from the ongoing crisis, which has cut Nigeria’s oil exports by about 50 per cent.
