A member of the House of Representatives from Enugu State, Dennis Amadi, has been axed by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Amadi was sacked by the court in a ruling delivered last Friday.
Justice Okon Abang, in his judgement, noted that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primaries election that produced Amadi as a lawmaker was illegal, null and void.
He however held that the December 6, 2014, primary election conducted by the party was valid and affirmed Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi as the winner of the PDP primaries.
The judge then ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the third defendant in the suit, to immediately issue a certificate of return to Ozomgbachi.
Justice Abang directed INEC to withdraw the certificate of return for Udi/Ezeagu federal constituency it previously issued to Amadi.
The judge also awarded N100,000 to the plaintiff against the first respondent.
