Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday, threatened to expel any student that wears unauthorised cloths to any public schools in the state.
This came after some students of the Baptist High School in Adeeke, Iwo, wore church garments to school on Tuesday.
Osun State has been plunged in educational crisis after a court authorised the use of Hijab by female Muslim students in public schools in the state.
Speaking at the commissioning of St Michael’s Government Middle School, Ibokun, Aregbesola said it was wrong and criminal for a section or group of people to have directed some innocent students to wear choir robes to schools against court’s judgment.
He urged whoever was not satisfied with the judgment to ventilate the grievance through legitimate means rather than trying to cause crises by resorting to self help.
“Government is not interested in any religion as being speculated. My goal is to improve education standard in the state,” he said.
