Ahead of the rerun elections in Kogi State, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it would conduct free, fair and credible polls.
This assurance was given by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Samuel Usman, while speaking at a stakeholders meeting at the Commission’s headquarters in Lokoja.
According to Usman, the meeting with stakeholders was conveyed in preparation to conduct a repeat of the poll and avoid another cancellation.
Those at the meeting were representatives from political parties, civil society organisations and security agencies.
The INEC chief urged all to work in partnership with his Commission for credible results.
Those at the meeting expressed their views, while promises were made to ensure the polls go smoothly.
