Some actors in the Yoruba movie industry have constituted a committee to raise funds to cater for the wife and three children left behind by one of their colleagues, Alfa Tati Itakure, who was snatched away from them this week by death.
Also, a foundation was established in his name and a film to be shot, in which the proceeds will be given to his family.
In a broadcast made by Yomi Fabiyi, the deceased was described as a “custodian of the Yoruba culture and language.”
It was gathered that the decision to carry out these plans was agreed at the burial of the actor in Oyo State on Sunday.
It was concluded that a script in Alfa Lati’s archive titled ‘Oja Aiye’ would be shot and proceeds given to his wife to set herself up and take care of the three children left behind by the late actor.
“The committee for the movie production shall comprise Afeez Eniola, Toyosi Adesanya, Sadiq Adebayo and Sharafa Olabode, while voluntary donations can be sent to Adesanya Toyosi Adenike with the UBA account number 2044864035.”
It was stressed that this fund is not binding on anyone, though colleagues, friends and fans who deem it humane can contribute and NO FIXED AMOUNT is set.
It was also agreed that the “Lateef Titilope Foundation shall consist of the following members:
- Afonja Olaniyi (Sanyeri),
- Bayo Tijani,
iii. Toyosi Adesanya-Ileyemi,
- Ronke Ojo-Anthony,
- Afeez Eniola,
- Sarafa Olabode,
vii. David Otemolu,
viii. Damola Olatunji,
- Muyiwa Ademola,
- Yomi Fabiyi
“Production date is 29th June, 2016
“Members of this project and Late Lateef Titilope’s family do sincerely every support in this regards.”
Fabiyi concluded by urging actors to pay attention “to our health and create time for medical check up and exercise. We will not witness pre-mature death again by his grace.”
