A new militant group called the Red Scorpion has claimed responsibility for blowing up two pipelines belonging to Elf Oil Company in Awara in Ohaji Egbema Council Area of Imo State. The group, which is based in Imo State, has also threatened to attack oil facilities belonging to Shell in Oguta.
Red Scorpion warned that it should not be seen as just any group, stressing that the consequences of such could be fatal.
It posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday that oil companies operating in oil producing communities will know no peace until they do the needful.
