Britain has voted to leave the European Union in a referendum, despite efforts made by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, to convince his people to remain in the 28-nation bloc.
According to the official results announced after the Thursday’s historic referendum, 59.1 percent voted to exit the bloc.
When asked whether Cameron should resign in case of a Brexit, Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP which had backed a vote to Leave, said: “immediately”.
At least 72 percent of 46.5m voters turned out cast their ballot.
