Nigeria’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ojo Maduekwe, has been reported dead. The former Minister was said to have died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.
The late Abia State-born politician was a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and held important position in the party.
He was the Secretary, Board of Trustees, BoT, of the PDP.
In 1999, former President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Maduekwe as Minister of Culture and Tourism and in 2001, he was drafted to the Ministry of Transport by Obasanjo.
In 2007, he was as appointed Foreign Affairs Minister by the late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
The deceased was born May 6, 1945.
