Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja, on Monday, adjourned hearing to this Thursday on the Stay of Execution suit filed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State against Justice Abang’s ruling last week in favour of Uche Ogah.

Last week, the judge sacked Ikpeazu from office and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, subsequently issued a Certificate of Return to Ogah, preparing him to take over the position.

But the governor refused to leave office, claiming he had appeal the ruling and had filed for a stay of execution.

At the hearing on Monday, Justice Abang said Ikpeazu will remain in office as governor of the state, pending the conclusion of matters in courts.

The judge noted that the enrolment order he gave to Ogah was not an enforcement order.
