Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
The former spokesman to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was granted bail by the court on Monday to the tune of N250 million and two sureties in like sum.
Also, the presiding judge, Justice Hassan, directed Fani-Kayode to deposit his international passport in the court’s registry.
The Osun State-born politician is facing trial over allegation of fraud levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The anti-graft agency arraigned him on June 28, 2016, on 17-count charge bordering on conspiracy and corruption.
Fani-Kayode, alongside Nenadi Usman (a former Minister of Finance), Danjuma Yusuf and Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Ltd, were accused of diverting about N4.9 billion belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria for political and personal uses.
However, they had pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
