The immediate past President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has congratulated Muslims in the country on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In his short message posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, the former Nigerian leader wished the Muslim faithful a “happy Eid el-Fitr”.
“I join well wishers in wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-el-Fitr as our brothers and sisters mark the end of Ramadan,” Jonathan said in his post.
“It is also my sincere desire that the prayers for peace and personal sacrifices of the faithful be rewarded as the fasting period ends,” he further said.
Concluding, Jonathan urged “solidarity with the Muslim faithful so that Nigeria can continue to enjoy peaceful coexistence.”
