In a bid to seek spiritual intervention, pensioners in Osun State have held prayer sessions to seek payment of their pension arrears and gratuities by the state government.
They gathered in thousands at the Osogbo township stadium led by the Osun State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, John Olunlade.
According to the senior citizens, they decided to make entreaty to God when they realised that protests have yielded no desired result.
They also prayed that God blesses the Osun state government to fulfil its outstanding financial obligations which include 12.4 billion naira gratuities and 3.7 billion naira pension arrears, among others.
They urged the state government to pay pension arrears which they say has accumulated to 8 months.
