Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has fired the Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin.
Jibrin was axed on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
No cogent reason was given for the action.
Recall that Jibrin, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from Kano State, had serious disagreements with his colleagues over the handling of the controversial 2016 budget when he was accused of putting many constituency projects worth over N4 billion in the 2016 budget.
Some people then moved to remove him, but were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, Dogara has announced the replacement for Jibrin.
He is Mustapha Bala Dawaki, also an APC member from Kano. Until now, he was the House Committee Chairman on Housing.
