Tragedy was let loose on Monday afternoon in Lagos when a heavy duty vehicle fully loaded with Premium Motor Spirit commonly known as petrol, spilled its content on the ground and burst into flames afterwards.
It was learnt that the fire spread to the popular Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, thereby causing traffic gridlock in the area.
Several people around, including motorists plying the busy road, fled to safety.
Fire fighters were battling to put the situation under control as at the time of filing in this report.
No human casualty could be confirmed as at press time.
