Crisis rocking the Kogi State House of Assembly for a while now seems to have come to an end with the resignation of Momoh Jimoh as Speaker of the House.
This has led to the appointment of Ahmed Umar Alfa as the new Speaker.
It would be recalled that the House has been immersed in a lot of imbroglio before the emergence of the new administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, which led to the momentary ousting of the then Speaker, Momoh Jimoh.
On assumption of duty as governor, Bello intervened, peace was restored but it was transient, a deeper crisis soon erupted that bedeviled the legislative chamber for a much longer time. This time, it consumed yet again Jimoh as Speaker of the House.
The issues led to breaking up of members of the Kogi Assembly into two factions, the G15 and the G5.
The G15 had members who are majorly from the PDP and who are loyal to Jimoh, while the G5, all of whom are APC members, are loyal to the new Speaker, Alfa.
Hitherto, it has not all been rosy in the House from late last year.
