Nollywood personality, Egor Efiok, has appealed to the Federal Government to consider establishing the film village earlier planned for Kano to be moved to Calabar, Cross River State.

However, Efiok, who is in charge of the Calabar film industry nicknamed ‘Callywood’, has urged the FG to consider Calabar for the laudable project.

She further appealed to Nigerians to “learn to respect other people’s religious views and cultures.”

Efiok pointed out that, “It does not matter how many billions the Federal Government wants to invest in the state of art film village in Kano. The people of Kano State have rejected it because their culture does not support it, please respect that and stop berating the president for bowing to pressure to scrap the idea.”

“The Federal Government should please invest those billions in Callywood instead, we want it, we need it; no need to fight mbok (please). Just come to Callywood, you’d be welcomed with open arms,” she appealed to the government.
