Controversy has already started trailing the raising of funds for a cancer patient named Mayowa Ahmed.
The campaign to raise money for the ovarian cancer patient, who was also claimed to be a sickle cell patient, was spearheaded by Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu.
Several people, both home and abroad donated for the treatment of the lady, who garnered sympathy fans of the movie star.
It was learnt that in few days, over N32 million was paid into her Nigerian bank account by different donors, while her Gofund Me account had over $100,000 in donations.
However, what is being speculated now is that she never needed the money and that her family only capitalised on her situation to rip off Nigerians of their hard-earned money.
It was alleged that doctors at LUTH confirmed that she actually suffers ovarian cancer, but that she never needed a surgery to treat the disease.
This, we gathered, was because her cancer has reached stage 4 and that no hospital in the world could treat such.
It was said that doctors at LUTH advised Mayowa’s family to care for her at home as she was unlikely to survive the illness. They denied telling Mayowa to seek medical care abroad.
Aproko247 gathered that Toyin Aimakhu was at LUTH recently with some police officers concerning this issue.
