Police in Ogun State have rescued a girl who was allegedly chained by her aunt in Abeokuta, the state capital.
It was learnt that the victim, 10-year-old Promise Udeh, was allegedly chained by the suspect, Chiamaka Okafor, at their residence at Adigbe area of Abeokuta.
She was rescued on Thursday when neighbours living close to them tipped off the police.
The suspect was said to have chained Promise after allegedly stealing N4000.
Acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, disclosed that Chiamaka now at large but her husband, Sunday Okafor has been arrested.
This is coming barely a week after a nine-year-old boy was rescued by security operatives in the state for an alleged habitual stealing habit.
