It seems those who want Yakubu Dogara removed as Speaker of the House of Representatives are not planning to let him be until their plan materialises.
Just when the Speaker is still battling with allegations of padding the 2016 budget raised by former chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, pictures of a guest house allegedly owned by him have emerged on the internet.
According to Premium Times, these photographs were sent to it by lawmakers who begged for anonymity.
It was alleged that the Dogara’s guest house is located at Vistula Close, along Panama Crescent, in the exquisite Maitama neighbourhood in Abuja.
Though when the paper contacted Jibrin to know if the pictures were from him, he denied it, saying he had nothing to do with the release of the photographs.
“I don’t have a hand in the release of those photographs,” Jibrin said. “I’m dealing with serious issues and not about guest houses.”
Jibrin was at the ICPC office on Monday to formally submit his petition against Dogara.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has repeatedly denied the allegations against him.
