A robbery suspect that was on the wanted list of the police in Lagos has been finally apprehended by operatives IGP’s team and patrolmen from Idimu in Alimosho local government area of the state.
The suspect, Gafar Ismail, was arrested while himself and two other members of his gang robbed a police Inspector.
According to spokesperson of the Lagos Police Command, Dolapo Badmos, Gafar and his two other friends were nabbed while robbing the cop after he came out from a bank.
The suspect was said to have shot the policeman in the face, which attracted the IGP team, who were nearby.
On sighting the operatives, the robbers opened fire and the team responded which led to two of the robbers being hit by bullets.
They were rushed to hospital, where they were confirmed dead while the victim is recovering in the hospital.
The case was later transferred to SARS of Lagos State Command, where investigation revealed that Gafar is on the wanted list of the command for cases of motorcycle robber.
Items recovered from the suspects were two locally made pistols, four live ammunitions and one Bajaj motorcycle.
