Some women in Anambra State on Tuesday took to the streets of Onitsha to ask for the resignation of the state governor, Willie Obiano.
The demonstrators claimed they have been subjected to severe hardship since Obiano assumed office.
Thousands of protesters, including widows took over the streets of Onitsha, carrying placards with different messages.
They said the state governor must go and allow someone that will look into their plights come into power.
The women said their businesses have nosedived and that the revenue task force inaugurated by the governor has not made life easy for them.
They further alleged that these state government officials assault them and seize their wares whenever they refuse to part with money.
The women also complained of double taxation, which they claimed has wrecked their businesses.
