At least five suspected Niger Delta militants have been feared dead by troops of the Special Forces Battalion in Rivers State.
It was said that the hoodlums were killed during a military operation tagged ‘Exercise Crocodile Smile’ in the region.
During the raid, some arms and ammunition were recovered from the camp of the militants in Rivers State.
Also during the exercise, 23 suspected militants were apprehended, the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, disclosed in a statement on Saturday.
He further said that apart from the militants killed several others were injured.
According to Col. Usman, the ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’ is designed to flush out criminal elements in the Niger Delta region.
