Reports reaching Aproko247 indicates that a dark cloud has befallen the Nigerian film industry fondly called Nollywood.
This is because one of the veterans in the industry, Martins Njubuigbo, but popularly known as Elder Maya, has been reported dead.
He was said to have breathed his last months after battling a liver-related ailment.
This piece of news was confirmed by Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Cross River State chapter, Aniebiet Udofia, who announced the demise of the actor on her Facebook page on Friday night.
“Rest in peace Elder Maya. May God lead your way in world beyond. Nollywood has lost a brand. The last time we acted along sides, your voice never deemed, you will always be remembered. Rest eternally sir,” she wrote.
It would be recalled that few months ago, news went into town that the aged actor was seriously sick and needed help to stay well.
