The National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Chief Ibinabo Fiberesima, has expressed her commiserated with the families of late member of the Guild and veteran actor, Njubigbo C. Martins aka Elder Maya, who passed onto eternal glory on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra State after a protracted battle with liver cirrhosis.
Ibinabo, in a statement issued on behalf of AGN, disclosed that Elder Maya would be fondly remembered for his immense contributions to the growth and development of the acting profession and Nollywood in general as well as fatherly counsels to Guild members.
Ibinabo said the late actor lived an exemplary life worthy of emulations, praying that “Almighty God will grant his gentle soul eternal rest in peace and give the family and loved ones the gratitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
She said further in the statement that, “Though we mourn his painful exit, but also celebrate his life and times as he left indelible marks on the sands of time and posterity will always remember his contributions to Nollywood.”
Ibinabo “urged all states chapter Chairmen to open condolence register nationwide” in honour of late Elder Maya.
