NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS) CELEBRATES OUR WONDERFUL TEACHERS, HAILS EXITING YOUTH CORPERS.
If actually education is the pillar that holds any sane society that means teachers are the pillar upon which our society stands.
On behalf of the entire Nigerian Students, we celebrate all the teachers in the Federal Republic of Nigeria for all what they have done in bringing sanity to our society.
Teachers give root to every profession on earth, teachers teach the young ones how to be conformists in the society, the contributions of the teachers in keeping our society afloat cannot be overemphasized.
Unfortunately, teachers especially in Africa and Nigeria in particular have not been given their dues. We cannot but solidarize with the very profession who have kept Africa competing in the global stage despite poor remuneration and indescribable condition of service.
We join our voice in advocating for improved salary package, training and retraining programs, conducive learning environments and sustainable pension package. It is wicked to assume that “teachers reward is in heaven”! Teachers deserve a decent salary and undeniably good pension. Teachers reward must indeed come while serving and living.
We urge governments at all levels, particularly the Federal Government of Nigeria to prioritize teachers’ welfare as a deliberate commitment to place our learned population in competitive edge in global sphere.
We know it for a fact that Nigerians students are all products of teachers in Nigeria, we really acknowledge and appreciate your sincere efforts. We say thank you for the knowledge impacted in us.
NANS also felicitates with members of the National Youth Service Corps (Batch B, Stream 1, 2015) that are passing out today, we salute your contributions to national peace, unity and progress of Nigeria. Let us all believe that playing our parts patriotically, our woes as a nation shall soon become our success.
We admonish you all to continue to be good ambassadors of our nation in all spheres of human endeavour. We call on government to create massive entrepreneurial schemes that will turn around the high rate of unemployment currently bedeviling our nation leading to high security challenges. It is high time our leaders began to position the youths for the future. Our nation cannot survive when we continually bake graduates without gainful and expressive job creation policies for self-sustainable living and robust economic growth. We wish you all best of luck in your future endeavours.
We pray that may the God Almighty strengthen our teachers to further guide pupils aright in this country.
Happy Teacher’s Day to all the Teachers across the Nation
Long Live NUT!
Long Live NANS!!
Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
Signed:
Comrade Chinonso Obasi (IBB), GCNS.
NANS President
Federal Republic of Nigeria
