Skye Bank Never Took Over OBAT Oil—Management

The management of Obat Oil & Petroleum has reacted to reports making the rounds that Skye Bank has taken over the company.

In a press statement issued by management of the firm, the report claiming Obat Oil and Petroleum was taken over by the financial institution was described as “fictitious.”

“We hereby refute the report and state categorically that there was no such incident,” Obat Oil and Petroleum declared.

The statement by the management further said, “Contrary to claims that the takeover was approved and initiated by reason of the Federal High Court ruling, there is no ruling of the Federal High Court directing or authorizing Skye Bank to take over Obat Tank Farm/ depot or its operations.”

“There has been no takeover of Obat offices/tank farm and operations, rather the Company’s offices have been operating at optimum capacity thus leaving news planted in the news media about its takeover in bad taste,” the management noted.

The statement urged “members of the public to disregard such news and publications.”
