Wife of the Lagos State governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, representatives from the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation will lead other dignitaries to the premiere of the first movie of fast-rising actress-cum producer, Fisayo Ajisola, slated to hold on December 8, 2016.
The movie premiere, which stands to address the plight as well as raise the hopes of the recently banned hawkers and underprivileged, who are now finding it difficult to survive since the Lagos State government placed a ban on street hawking, also coincides with the five year anniversary of the actress’ Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Jewel Empowerment Foundation (JEF), an outfit that has over the years empowered Nigerian youths.
Ajisola also noted that the movie is targeted to draw the attention of the Federal Government, states and well-meaning Nigerians to the plight of young Nigerians who have no means of survival, education, jobs and practically no life, but only to find means to make their lives productive through any menial jobs.
She added that, “I am concerned with the lives of these young Nigerians. We need to project a sane society and we can only achieve this by shunning vices in our society and empowering our youths.
“The act of crimes and traffic congestion which, according to the state government, had aided robbery, kidnap, killing, and all sorts of evil deeds must stop. We must collectively build the society positively and make our nation a better place.”
