Script2Screen Africa TV Reality Show Kicks Off

The much-awaited reality television show for filmmakers in Africa, the ‘Script2Screen Africa 2018: Filmmaking Reality TV Show,’ has commenced with contestants jostling to win the grand prize.

Already, organisers of the programme, High Definition Film Academy, have put the various contestants into various groups consisting actors and filmmakers.

The groups will produce a video for ‘Script2Screen Africa theme song’. Aside being in a group, finalists were also paired ‘one actor to a filmmaker’ to produce a monologue centred on ‘Corruption Free Nigeria’ as their first major task for the week.

One of the highlights of the show for the week was the visitation of Mr Oladayo Olaide, the Project Coordinator (Nigeria) of John D & Katherine T MacArthur Foundation who is the support organization for the project.

Oladapo charged the finalist to think deeply and ask themselves why they have decided to be change agents. He said; “Be ready for the challenge. Create ideas using movies as an object to fight corruption because film can indeed be catalyst for revolution.”

“Sow social change in people. Although, your job may come with a price to pay because, when you fight corruption, corruption will always fight back but, be brave and be consistent. The change may not come today or tomorrow but, it will surely come,” he further said.

The groups rounded up the day with a debate on the topic “Corruption Free Nigeria- A responsibility of the citizens and not the government.” And at the end of the intense arguments and counter arguments, Team Two and Four who got to the finals finished with draw points.

Meanwhile, viewing schedule for the show has been released. It will be showing on African Movie Channels (AMCSeries) Channel 134 on Startimes at 3:00 pm on Sundays and Thursdays.

It will also be showing on Silverbird Network Television DSTV 252 on Sundays at 10:30pm. The show will also be on Wazobia TV/UHF channel 259 at 8:00 pm on Thursdays and 9:00 pm on Sundays and it will be on GOTV 95 and Startimes channel 195 at 9:00 pm. It will also be on Wazobia Max TV on DSTV Channel 259 and UHF 57 (terrestrial TV) Wednesday 10:00 pm, Thursdays 3: 00 pm, Saturdays 6:30 pm and Sundays 9:00pm on channel 98 on GOTV.

Supported by John D & Katherine T MacArthur Foundation and endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports and Script2Screen Africa TV Reality Show 2018 is being shot at Amen Estate  and will run from March 24 – April 21, 2018.
