2019 Elections: How Chris Okafor Forsaw Postponement, Kaduna Massacre

It is always said that the word of God will never go unfulfilled and this was brought into fruition last week when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the postponement of the 2019 general elections by one week due to logistics issues.

Before last Saturday’s announcement, General Overseer of Greater Liberation City Worldwide, Prophet Chris Okafor, had warned Nigerians to pray for the country as they prepare for the polls, but many ignored his warnings.

The Oracle of God, as the cleric is fondly called by some of his believers, had also warned Nigerians to fervently pray against bloodshed before, during and after the elections and on Friday, a day to the now shifted polls, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, announced that about 66 people were killed in the state.

Those who were at the service conducted by Prophet Okafor on Sunday, February 10, 2019 will remember that he used an illustration that the cloud was not clear yet because the umpire for the election, which is INEC, cannot fully say it was ready for the elections because they must hear from those who employed them before they can move ahead.

On Saturday, INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, postponed the presidential election to February 23, while the governorship poll was moved to March 9.
