Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, founder of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Ejigbo, Lagos State has indicted men of the Okota Police Station for frustrating a cleansing exercise being carried out by his church, as he called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu to call them to order.
This follows an embarrassing scene in which the man of God was refused passage to carry out a cleansing exercise of some parts of Lagos State.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with www.theoctopusnews.com, rimate Ayodele said: “We are trying to do our best by contributing in the way of prayers, and cleansing as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned. We have gotten about 10,000 bottles of water and anointing oil. But I am so disappointed that the government is not cooperating.
“This virus will go beyond what we expect. We have been going out for the past two days doing this cleansing. We have been spending our own money, we are not asking for money from anybody, we cannot do any contribution, but our way of support is by doing cleansing, we fuel our cars and using our anointing oil, we do the cleansing.
“Do you know that while we are doing this, the Okota Police Station embarrassed us? They told us to turn back and started saying all sorts of trash. I don’t know if that is how the government of Nigeria wants it, they don’t want churches to make their contributions, they don’t want Muslims to make their contribution. We all have a role to play.
“The traditional rulers can also go round to do their own things. Why must the police at Okota stop us? The police don’t want to corporate, and in a situation where the churches and the police don’t corporate, the country is going to doom.”
Emphasising the level of ignorance about the COVID-19 pandemic, the man of God who had earlier revealed the coming of an epidemic in his book titled “Warnings To The Nations” stated that the situation
requires the church to get involved. Primate Ayodele decried the level of literacy among the police blaming it for the reason why they have failed to see the role of the church in a situation like this.
“It is quite unfortunate that we have a police that is not educated or enlightened. We have a police that does not fear God. I don’t know if this is what the Inspector General of Police told them, but this is a sacrifice that I wanted to do on my own. I don’t believe that the police should stop it. The government is confused; they need people like us now. The police in Ago-Okota are satanic to God’s work. I am not disappointed because I am aware of the fact that everybody cannot be the same. We have gone to several places; we have gone to Ikotun, Ejigbo, Isolo and other places.”
Wondering if the government is happy about the situation of things, Primate Ayodele frowned at the fact that the police appear to be happy that people are dying and others are at home ideal.
“Are we happy the way people dying, are we happy about the way people are at home, and yet you see the police collecting money on the road. Are they happy that people are not going out to do their daily business, it is highly uncalled for, it is really embarrassing, and the police do not honour God, it is not like I didn’t know what to do, but I did not want it to look like I was disobeying them. I see all of them as my children. As a man of God, I had to follow their instruction, I had to obey them, but I also had to report because these are perilous times when we need God more than anything. Medicine has failed, and we are now failing ourselves now. The police are not well educated, they are not well trained,” Primate Ayodele stated.
Emphasising the impact of the cleansing in order parts of the state, the man of God revealed that following the cleansing on Sunday, the state did not record any case of the COVID-19 infection.
According to him, it is a sign that the cleansing of other parts of Lagos State and Nigeria at large could help the situation.
“We did the cleansing on Sunday and on Monday, there was no record of infection in Lagos State, you can check your record.
“We are looking for a solution to the problem, you cannot say you see visions, and receive messages, and yet when there is a problem, you can’t find a solution. In the western world, a lot of things are being done to solve this problem. Catholics did a sacrifice yesterday because they don’t want the virus in the world. We are not even talking about Nigeria now; we are using Nigeria to impact the world. I don’t think this the best way to manage this.”
