AMAC To Hold Taxation Webinar

The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the Local Government responsible for administration of the Abuja city, has concluded arrangement to hold a tax webinar

According to the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, the webinar; which is a dialogue between business owners and members of the council aimed at sensitizing tax payers on how to get the necessary support from the council, build more relationship and showing evidences of tax payments via dividend of democracy to the citizens by the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

“Our aim at the end of the sensitization is to get feedback from business owners and Tax payers on the issues they are facing; Post COVID-19 and challenges they face in paying their tax,” Hon. Abdullahi Candido said.

He further said that the Area Council will operate a transparent and an efficient tax system that will optimizes tax revenue collection and voluntary compliance.

“Our tax system is simple to understand, fair to all, convenient to comply with and administratively efficient,” Abdullahi Candido reiterated

From the outlined program, the webinar will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 by 11:00 AM West Africa Time (West Africa, GMT+01:00). The first Speaker will be Mr. Awoje Danlami who will speak on “Taxation and IGR”, the Second speaker, Hon Gabriel Bravo Oluohu (Supervisory Councillor on Finance) will speak on “All you need to know about Tenement rate” while the third speaker will speak on “payment platform for taxes, post-covid 19 challenges to businesses” and the last presentation will be done by Niles Pyelshak who will speak on “Building Transparency and Accountabilities through Digital Innovations”.

The webinar will be moderated by Mrs. Abiodun Essiet (Special Adviser to the Chairman on ICT/CSO) and Mrs. Patience Olaloye (Head of Information Unit)
