World-class dairy giant, Fan Milk Plc, a Danone Company, is set to partner with the Ogun State Government on a backward integration programme that will develop their flagship dairy farm in the State to enhance local dairy production.
Fan Milk will set up a dairy farm, which will include pasture development and a Danone Training Institute for local farmers, within the Odeda Farm Institute, Odeda LGA.
The Board Chairman, Mr Olayinka Akinkugbe, who disclosed this, stated that the decision is a result of the Company’s close observation of the commendable efforts and readiness of the Ogun State Government towards partnering with local and foreign investors especially in agriculture and other key sectors.
The intention is to contribute to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s plan for improved local milk production and the economy recovery growth plan of the Federal Government to attain self-sufficiency.
The partnership will leverage on the support of the Ogun State Government, the CBN and the Federal Government readiness and support dairy farmers in Ogun State towards creating significant socioeconomic impact.
Fan Milk Plc is known for manufacturing ice cream, frozen dairy and ambient drinks in Nigeria and West Africa for over 60 years.
It has operated farms, offices, partnerships, technical institutes and distribution channels in various parts of Nigeria and across West Africa, including Ghana, Togo, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
