NDLEA Intercepts 3.30kg Of Cocaine Concealed In T-Shirts Stickers

A suspected cocaine trafficker named Ukaegbu Bright Onyekachi who was trying to outsmart the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) by cleverly concealing 3.30 kilograms of the illicit drug in T–shirts stickers was intercepted by detectives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

The suspect was arrested on Monday, February 1st, 2021 during the inward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian airline at the E arrival hall of the MMIA.

According to Mr Ahmadu Garba, the Commander, MMIA command of the NDLEA, Ukaegbu Onyekachi arrived in Nigeria on board Ethiopian Airways from São Paulo, Brazil through Addis Ababa.

His arrest came a few days after three cocaine cartels were burst at the airport.

This comes barely a week after the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mohammed Buba Marwa, directed the commanders of the agency in all states and special commands to rid the country of illicit drugs.

Marwa also commended the men and officers of the agency for taking the war to the doorsteps of traffickers and peddlers of illicit drugs in their areas.

“I have told the commanders in my meeting with them that our maxim is offensive action and I’m glad they are following up on the strategies outlined for them”, he said.
