The Lagos Police Command has assured citizens that normalcy has returned in the Obalende area of Lagos following a clash between rival groups of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Pandemonium broke out in the early hours of Thursday, at Obalende area of Lagos Island when sounds of gunshots were heard, thereby raising tension in the area.
The tension saw people running in different directions for safety while several properties were said to have been destroyed.
However, in a tweet, the Lagos Police Command said policemen are now stationed in strategic points to maintain law and order.
“Normalcy has returned to Obalende as police officers are stationed in its strategic points,” the tweet read.
